Dr. Domingo Magliocca
Domingo Magliocca, master's degree in Applied Criminology for Investigation and Security at the University of Bologna – Forlì’s campus, Geographic Profiling Analyst, first italian analyst to be in possession of the license of Rigel, the professional geographic profiling system created by Prof. Kim Rossmo, and to use it for research projects and for tactical-operational activities in geographic profiling analysis on specific crimes.
His main area of expertise is criminological and investigative sciences, serial offender's spatial pattern. In 2022, he was awarded, in Milan, on the occasion of the 4th edition of the Investigation & Forensic Awards, in the Criminological Sciences and Clinical Criminology category. He is author of numerous publications especially about geographic offender profiling, including the books “Tracce geografiche criminali” and “Analisi della scena geografica del crimine. Indizi nel paesaggio”, the only italian publications with specif topic on geographic profiling analysis.
He was co-supervisor of degree thesis projects at the University of Bologna, where he also held two seminars. He is a member of the International Association of Crime Analysts, collaborator at the Institute of Forensic Sciences (ISF), at the European Forensic Institute (EFI) and Forensic Science Academy (FSA), speaker in congresses and international conferences, including the inaugural EACA Conference in Malta and the XXXV national Congress of the Italian Society of Criminology "Virtual relationships, Real victims", in Rome at the Carabinieri Officers' School (6-8 October 2022), where he had the oral presentation entitled “The geography of a cybercrime. The use of criminological principles and geographic profiling tools to investigate the spatial pattern and identify the probable area of the "anchor point" of a serial online offender".
In 2024, he was guest speaker at St. John's University in New York - Rome campus. He collaborated, together with the investigators of Carabinieri’s Criminological Analysis Department, in the creation of the book "Criminal Profiling", published in 2024.
As delegate, his main objective is to promote "cultural curiosity" in crime analysis field, criminology, geography of crime as well as, following his motto “everything with modesty, nothing with arrogance”, the importance of research and collaboration, with respect, between worldwide crime analysts.
